Jason Locasale
PhD
Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology
👥Biography 个人简介
Jason Locasale at Duke University has made significant contributions to understanding one-carbon metabolism in cancer, characterizing how serine, glycine, and the folate cycle provide one-carbon units for nucleotide synthesis and methylation reactions that support cancer cell proliferation. His research has demonstrated that cancer cells with PHGDH amplification are dependent on de novo serine synthesis. He has contributed to understanding how dietary factors including methionine restriction can affect tumor metabolism and response to therapy. His work on the connections between one-carbon metabolism, epigenetic methylation, and cancer treatment response has advanced metabolic therapeutic strategies.
