Jane Bhatt
MD, PhD
Professor of Hematology
👥Biography 个人简介
Jane Bhatt has studied large granular lymphocyte leukemia, a rare chronic lymphoproliferative disorder of cytotoxic T cells and NK cells characterized by cytopenias and recurrent activating STAT3 or STAT5b mutations. Her research has characterized how STAT3 and STAT5b mutations constitutively activate JAK-STAT signaling in LGL leukemia cells, promoting survival and resistance to apoptosis, and identified JAK inhibitors as potential targeted therapeutics. She has investigated the clinical spectrum of T-LGL leukemia from indolent cytopenia-driven disease to rare aggressive variants, and optimized immunosuppressive strategies with methotrexate, cyclosporine, and cyclophosphamide for symptomatic disease. Her work has clarified the overlap between LGL leukemia and autoimmune cytopenias including aplastic anemia and rheumatoid arthritis-associated neutropenia.
