👥Biography 个人简介

Dr. Jan Kitajewski is a vascular biologist at UIC who has contributed extensively to understanding the angiopoietin-TIE2 signaling axis in tumor angiogenesis. He characterized how Ang-2 destabilizes tumor vasculature by antagonizing TIE2 and cooperates with VEGF to drive pathological angiogenesis. His work provided biological rationale for co-targeting Ang-2 and VEGF, leading to clinical development of bispecific antibodies like faricimab for neovascular diseases.
