James Wilson
MD, PhD
Rose H. Weiss Orphan Disease Center Director
👥Biography 个人简介
James Wilson is a pioneer of adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy who has engineered novel AAV capsid variants with enhanced tissue tropism and reduced immunogenicity for cancer gene therapy applications. His laboratory discovered and characterized numerous AAV serotypes with distinct tissue targeting properties, enabling selective delivery of therapeutic genes to specific tumor types and tissues. He has advanced understanding of immune responses to AAV vectors that limit gene therapy efficacy, developing strategies to overcome pre-existing immunity. His work on high-dose AAV gene therapy has informed safety protocols critical for cancer gene therapy clinical trials.
