James Bhatt

James Bhatt is a pioneer in carbon ion radiotherapy for radioresistant cancers at one of the world's leading particle therapy centers. His research has characterized the radiobiological advantages of carbon ions including enhanced relative biological effectiveness and reduced oxygen enhancement ratio. He has conducted pivotal trials demonstrating superior local control of skull base chordomas, chondrosarcomas, and other radioresistant tumors with carbon ion therapy. His work is advancing carbon ion therapy as a treatment option for tumors poorly controlled by conventional radiation.
