Surya Jain has investigated the synergistic effects of combining TTFields with radiation therapy, demonstrating that alternating electric fields impair DNA damage repair pathways including homologous recombination and BRCA1 foci formation, thereby enhancing radiosensitivity of glioblastoma cells. His preclinical work showed that concurrent TTFields and radiation produces supra-additive tumor cell killing through disruption of replication fork stability. He leads clinical trials evaluating optimal sequencing of TTFields with chemoradiation in newly diagnosed glioblastoma.
