Jaffer Ajani at MD Anderson is a senior expert in esophageal and gastric cancers who has contributed to understanding the biological and clinical differences between squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma of the esophagus. He has led multiple clinical trials in esophageal cancer and contributed to molecular analyses distinguishing these histologies. His work on gastric cancer has also informed treatment strategies across the gastroesophageal junction.
