Jean-Pierre Issa is a pioneer of hypomethylating therapy, having led early clinical trials of decitabine and azacitidine in MDS and AML. His work defined DNA methylation as a therapeutic target in hematologic malignancies. He directs the Coriell Institute translational epigenetics program.
