Irene Ghobrial

Irene Ghobrial at Dana-Farber has focused on the biology and natural history of myeloma precursor conditions — MGUS and smoldering myeloma — and on developing immune-based prevention strategies. Her research on immune dysregulation in the pre-malignant myeloma niche, and her clinical trials testing whether early immune intervention in high-risk smoldering myeloma can prevent progression, address the question of whether myeloma is preventable in high-risk individuals.
