Iannis Aifantis is a leading authority on NOTCH signaling in hematologic malignancies, particularly T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. His research has elucidated mechanisms by which activating NOTCH1 mutations drive T-ALL and cooperate with epigenetic dysregulation. He discovered novel regulators of NOTCH signaling and identified metabolic dependencies of NOTCH-driven leukemia that can be therapeutically exploited. His work has advanced the development of NOTCH pathway inhibitors and combination strategies for T-ALL treatment.
