Leroy Hood
MD, PhD
Co-Founder and Professor Emeritus
👥Biography 个人简介
Leroy Hood invented the automated DNA sequencer that made the Human Genome Project possible and subsequently co-founded systems biology as a discipline, establishing the conceptual framework for integrating multiple omics measurements to understand cancer as a systems-level disease. His P4 medicine concept (predictive, preventive, personalized, participatory) articulated the vision for applying multi-omics data to transform cancer care from reactive treatment to proactive health management. His career-long commitment to technology development has produced instruments and methods foundational to every omics platform used in cancer research.
