Waun Ki Hong led pioneering work on chemoprevention and organ preservation in head and neck cancer including trials demonstrating that induction chemotherapy could spare the larynx. He served as Head of the Division of Cancer Medicine at MD Anderson and mentored generations of oncology leaders. His work transformed multidisciplinary head and neck cancer care.
