Rolando Herrero led the Costa Rica HPV Vaccine Trial whose long-term follow-up provided pivotal evidence that a single dose of HPV vaccine confers durable protection against HPV infection. This work has supported WHO recommendations for single-dose HPV vaccination schedules. His research is central to global HPV vaccine implementation.
