Beth Helmink led a landmark 2020 Nature study demonstrating that B cells and tertiary lymphoid structures are associated with response to immune checkpoint blockade in melanoma and sarcoma. Her translational work integrates surgical specimens with single cell profiling. She continues to investigate B cell biology in solid tumor immunotherapy response.
