Samuel Hellman

Samuel Hellman is a radiation oncologist whose contributions include pioneering breast conservation therapy with lumpectomy and radiation and co-defining the oligometastatic state with Ralph Weichselbaum. He served as physician-in-chief at Memorial Sloan Kettering and dean at the University of Chicago. He is a towering figure of twentieth-century radiation oncology.
