Heinz-Josef Lenz at USC Norris has led landmark research into molecular subtypes of colorectal cancer and their therapeutic implications. He was a key contributor to the consensus molecular subtypes (CMS) classification framework that subdivides CRC into four biologically distinct groups. His research has identified pharmacogenomic markers predictive of bevacizumab response and chemotherapy outcomes in advanced CRC. He has led numerous phase III trials in CRC and contributed to defining standard first-line regimens.
