Heinz-Josef Lenz is a gastrointestinal oncologist at USC whose research has examined pharmacogenomic predictors of adjuvant chemotherapy benefit and toxicity in colorectal cancer. His work addresses the differential benefit of adjuvant immunotherapy in MSI-H versus MSS colon cancer and has contributed to investigations examining POLE/POLD1 mutations as immunotherapy biomarkers. He co-chairs cooperative group GI committee trials and has contributed to molecular subtyping of CRC with therapeutic implications. Lenz is recognized for translational pharmacogenomics research that personalizes adjuvant CRC treatment.
