Heather Wakelee at Stanford has contributed to lung cancer clinical research including contributions to IMpower133 establishing atezolizumab plus chemotherapy as first-line standard of care for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer — the first new first-line treatment to improve survival in SCLC in decades. Her contributions to both NSCLC and SCLC clinical trials represent important advances in thoracic oncology.
