Hans Vasen

Hans Vasen at LUMC is Europe's leading Lynch syndrome expert, having contributed to defining the clinical criteria (originally Amsterdam Criteria, later revised) for Lynch syndrome and establishing surveillance colonoscopy protocols that have dramatically reduced colorectal cancer mortality in Lynch families. His decades of longitudinal follow-up of Lynch syndrome kindreds has provided the evidence base for cancer risk estimates and prevention guidelines.
