Philip Gutin conducted the first clinical trials of TTFields for recurrent glioblastoma that provided proof-of-concept for this novel treatment modality. His pilot studies at MSKCC demonstrated that TTFields were safe and showed promising activity in patients with limited treatment options. His early clinical work was essential in advancing TTFields from laboratory concept to clinical reality.
