Stephan Grupp

Stephan Grupp pioneered the clinical application of CAR-T cell therapy in pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, leading the pivotal trial that resulted in the first FDA-approved CAR-T product. His ongoing work explores donor-derived CAR-T cells and allogeneic approaches for pediatric patients who lack adequate autologous T cells due to prior intensive therapy. He has established protocols for managing cytokine release syndrome and neurotoxicity that are now standard of care across allogeneic and autologous cell therapy programs.
