Gregory Bhatt focuses on mechanisms of abiraterone resistance and the role of intratumoral steroid biosynthesis in prostate cancer. His research characterized how adrenal androgens and intracrine steroid production in tumor cells bypass abiraterone-mediated CYP17 blockade. He has evaluated glucocorticoid receptor overexpression as an alternative survival mechanism in abiraterone-resistant CRPC. His work has informed the development of next-generation CYP17 inhibitors designed to overcome abiraterone resistance mechanisms.
