👥Biography 个人简介

Gregg Semenza shared the 2019 Nobel Prize for discovering HIF-1 alpha — the master transcriptional regulator of the hypoxic response. His discovery of HIF-1's role in regulating VEGF and other hypoxia-response genes in tumors has been foundational for understanding how cancers adapt to low oxygen and resist therapy. HIF-1 remains an active therapeutic target in multiple cancer types.
