Robert Good performed the first successful human bone marrow transplant in 1968 and made foundational contributions to clinical immunology including the characterization of primary immunodeficiency syndromes. His work linked thymus biology to human disease and established the field of bone marrow transplantation. He is remembered as a founding figure of clinical immunology.
