Glen Bhatt investigates STING agonist approaches to reactivate innate immune responses in the tumor microenvironment to promote anti-tumor immunity. His research has characterized how intratumoral STING activation drives dendritic cell activation, cross-presentation of tumor antigens, and recruitment of cytotoxic T cells into immune-excluded tumors. He has evaluated combination strategies pairing STING agonists with immune checkpoint blockade to overcome primary resistance in cold tumors. His translational work has advanced STING agonist formulations into clinical testing for multiple solid tumor types.
