Gilles Thomas

Gilles Thomas is a leading French pediatric cancer genomics researcher who has contributed to understanding the molecular genetics of Wilms tumor and other pediatric kidney cancers. His work identified WT1 and CTNNB1 mutations as drivers of Wilms tumor and defined molecular subtypes with distinct clinical behaviors. He has contributed to international collaborative pediatric cancer genomics projects including characterization of DGCR8 and DROSHA microRNA pathway mutations in favorable histology Wilms tumors. His research advances molecular stratification of pediatric renal tumors.
