Gianluca Gaidano

Gianluca Gaidano is a hematological malignancy biologist who has made important discoveries in CLL molecular pathogenesis including identifying recurrent mutations in NOTCH1 and SF3B1 as prognostic markers. His laboratory has systematically characterized the mutational landscape of CLL and related B-cell malignancies and investigated how these mutations affect disease biology and treatment sensitivity. He has contributed to understanding the molecular basis of transformation from indolent to aggressive lymphoma. His translational research has influenced CLL prognostic scoring systems and treatment algorithms.
