George Bhatt

George Bhatt is an expert in the serrated neoplasia pathway in colorectal cancer and serrated polyposis syndrome. His research has characterized the molecular features of sessile serrated lesions including BRAF mutation and CpG island methylation that drive progression to colorectal cancer. He has investigated clinical risk factors for serrated polyposis syndrome and cancer risk within this condition. His work on surveillance and management of serrated polyposis patients has informed emerging clinical guidelines for this understudied hereditary cancer syndrome.
