George Beatty

George Beatty at the University of Pennsylvania has contributed to understanding IDO1-mediated immune suppression and the rationale for IDO inhibitors in cancer immunotherapy, including the evaluation of epacadostat in clinical trials. His laboratory research on pancreatic cancer and other immune cold tumor types has contributed to defining the immunosuppressive mechanisms that prevent immune recognition. He has pioneered approaches using macrophage-targeting strategies and CAR-T cells to overcome immune exclusion in cold tumors. His translational research bridges tumor immunology and early-phase clinical investigation for cold tumor immunotherapy.
