Julie Gehl

Julie Gehl has expanded electrochemotherapy from surface tumors to deep-seated malignancies using endoscopic and image-guided electrode placement, and has pioneered calcium electroporation as a novel drug-free tumor ablation modality. Her gene electrotransfer work demonstrates that intratumoral delivery of immunostimulatory genes by electroporation can convert cold tumors into immunotherapy-responsive ones. She leads the International Network for Sharing Practices on Electrochemotherapy standardization initiative.
