Julio Garcia-Aguilar

Julio Garcia-Aguilar leads colorectal surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering and was the principal investigator of the landmark OPRA trial that established total neoadjuvant therapy with either induction or consolidation chemotherapy for rectal cancer organ preservation. OPRA demonstrated that nearly half of selected patients can avoid total mesorectal excision surgery. His work brought W&W into North American standard practice.
