Gang Greg Wang at UNC Lineberger has made important contributions to understanding how aberrant histone methyltransferase activity drives cancer. His research on NSD2 overexpression/mutations in multiple myeloma, NUP98 fusion protein mechanisms in AML, and the role of H3K36 methylation in cancer chromatin organization has defined new epigenetic therapeutic vulnerabilities. His work connects chromatin biology to cancer-driving transcriptional programs.
