Susanne Gabrielsson

Susanne Gabrielsson investigates the immunological properties of extracellular vesicles for cancer immunotherapy, demonstrating that EVs derived from B cells and dendritic cells can present tumor antigens and activate anti-tumor immune responses when used as cell-free cancer vaccines. Her research at Karolinska Institutet has shown that EV-based immunotherapy can overcome some of the manufacturing and logistical limitations of cell-based immunotherapy while retaining potent immune-stimulatory activity. Her work is developing EV-based cancer vaccines as a scalable alternative to whole-cell immunotherapy approaches.
