Frederick Appelbaum at Fred Hutch has contributed to allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) as treatment for AML and other hematologic malignancies, including work on graft-versus-leukemia effect, treatment conditioning regimens, and post-transplant care. His contributions to the science and practice of bone marrow transplantation have been foundational for curative treatment of high-risk hematologic cancers.
