Freddie Bray

Freddie Bray at IARC leads the GLOBOCAN project providing the definitive global estimates of cancer incidence and mortality across 185 countries, the most widely used resource for quantifying the global cancer burden. His research has characterized regional cancer trends, identified emerging cancer epidemics in LMICs, and projected future cancer burden increases that support global cancer control planning. He has worked to improve cancer registry data quality in developing countries to enable better surveillance. His epidemiological contributions to global cancer monitoring have been foundational for global oncology policy and resource allocation.
