Frank Slack has made major contributions to understanding let-7 microRNA as a tumor suppressor and to translating miRNA biology into cancer therapy. His work demonstrating that let-7 loss promotes lung and other cancers, and his development of miRNA replacement and inhibition strategies as cancer therapeutics, has been important for the RNA therapeutics oncology field.
