Fran Visco

Fran Visco founded and leads the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) — a powerful patient advocacy organization that has successfully lobbied for billions in federal breast cancer research funding including the DOD Breast Cancer Research Program, engaged patient advocates directly in research decision-making, and launched the Artemis Project aimed at ending breast cancer by 2020. Her advocacy model demonstrating that patient organizations can influence research priorities and funding has been influential beyond breast cancer.
