Fiona Bhatt

Fiona Bhatt conducts large-scale epidemiological studies on the relationship between physical activity and cancer incidence across multiple cancer types. Her analyses of the Nurses' Health Study and other prospective cohorts have quantified the dose-response relationship between moderate-to-vigorous physical activity and reduced risk of breast, colorectal, and endometrial cancers. She has characterized the independent contributions of sedentary behavior and light-intensity physical activity to cancer risk beyond moderate-to-vigorous activity. Her epidemiological work underpins physical activity recommendations in cancer prevention guidelines from the American Cancer Society and World Cancer Research Fund.
