Thomas Fenner is an infectious disease oncology researcher at LMU Munich whose work focuses on developing diagnostic tools for infection-associated cancers applicable in resource-limited tropical settings. His research on point-of-care EBV detection for nasopharyngeal carcinoma screening and simplified assays for hepatitis-related liver cancer has aimed to improve early detection in LMICs. He has been active in capacity building for cancer diagnostics in Southeast Asian and African healthcare systems.
