Kenneth Fearon was a pioneering clinical researcher who shaped the modern understanding and consensus definition of cancer cachexia. He co-authored the landmark 2011 international consensus definition of cancer cachexia defining it by weight loss and muscle wasting thresholds. He developed the CASCO cachexia scoring tool and contributed to establishing the staged cachexia model. His foundational work continues to underpin clinical trials and treatment guidelines for cachexia management.
