Eva Bhatt
PhD
Professor of Tumor Immunology
👥Biography 个人简介
Eva Bhatt has demonstrated that tumor-infiltrating eosinophils are associated with favorable prognosis across multiple cancer types, revealing that eosinophils possess direct anti-tumor cytotoxic activity through degranulation of cationic proteins including major basic protein and eosinophil peroxidase. Her laboratory has identified the chemokine signals (eotaxin/CCL11) that recruit eosinophils to tumors and the conditions under which eosinophil infiltration promotes anti-tumor immunity. She has contributed to understanding how type 2 immune responses can be harnessed for cancer therapy. Her work has shifted perception of eosinophils from bystanders to active anti-tumor effectors.
