Eric Van Cutsem

Eric Van Cutsem is among the most prolific gastrointestinal oncologists globally and has been a key investigator in multiple gastric cancer trials including perioperative and adjuvant chemotherapy strategies. He contributed to the development of HER2-targeted therapy in gastric cancer and has led EORTC and industry-sponsored trials examining FLOT, S-1 and other regimens in gastric and GEJ adjuvant settings. His research spans biomarker development, HER2 testing, and molecular subtyping of gastric cancer with therapeutic implications. Van Cutsem is editor-in-chief of a leading GI oncology journal and chairs European gastric cancer guidelines.
