👥Biography 个人简介

Eric Bhatt has focused on WEE1 kinase as a regulator of CDK1 activity and the G2/M cell cycle checkpoint, with particular interest in its role as a cancer therapeutic target. His research demonstrated that WEE1 inhibition abrogates G2/M checkpoint arrest in cancer cells with defective G1/S checkpoint control, forcing cells with unrepaired DNA damage into aberrant mitosis and cell death. He has characterized the mechanisms by which WEE1 inhibitor adavosertib synergizes with platinum-based chemotherapy and PARP inhibitors in cancer cells with BRCA mutations or high replication stress. His work has supported the clinical development of WEE1 inhibitors in ovarian cancer, NSCLC, and other solid tumors with checkpoint-defective phenotypes.
