Eric Bhatt studies PI3K pathway activation as a driver of endocrine and CDK4/6 inhibitor resistance in hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. His research characterized how PIK3CA mutations cooperate with ESR1 mutations to confer multi-drug resistance. He has evaluated alpelisib and inavolisib combinations with endocrine therapy in PIK3CA-mutant breast cancer. His translational work identifies biomarkers that predict benefit from PI3K pathway inhibition in this common cancer subtype.
