Erez Lieberman Aiden
PhD
Director, Center for Genome Architecture
👥Biography 个人简介
Erez Lieberman Aiden co-developed the Hi-C method and used it to produce the first genome-wide maps of chromatin interactions, discovering that the genome is organized into two major compartments (A and B) corresponding to active and inactive chromatin. His laboratory proposed the fractal globule model of genome folding and contributed to the loop extrusion model explaining how cohesin generates chromatin loops and TADs. He has applied ultra-high-resolution Hi-C to map structural variants in cancer that create neo-TADs and aberrant enhancer-oncogene contacts. His computational and experimental innovations have made 3D genome mapping accessible to the broader cancer research community.
