Elizabeth Swisher

Elizabeth Swisher at the University of Washington is an expert in hereditary gynecologic cancers and the use of PARP inhibitors beyond classic BRCA1/2 mutations. Her work has characterized the spectrum of HRR gene mutations that confer PARP inhibitor sensitivity in ovarian cancer beyond BRCA, including BRIP1, RAD51C, RAD51D, and PALB2. She has contributed to defining HRD testing standards for clinical PARP inhibitor selection and has led germline mutation prevalence studies in unselected ovarian cancer cohorts. Her research supports expansion of PARP inhibitor eligibility based on comprehensive HRR testing.
