Elizabeth Blackburn
PhD
Professor Emeritus
👥Biography 个人简介
Elizabeth Blackburn shared the 2009 Nobel Prize for discovering telomerase — the enzyme that maintains telomere length and enables cancer cells to achieve replicative immortality. Her foundational work establishing that cancer cells upregulate telomerase to escape cellular senescence has made telomerase a major focus of cancer drug development and contributed fundamentally to understanding how cancer cells bypass normal growth limitations.
