Elisabetta Munzone

Elisabetta Munzone is a breast oncologist with specialized expertise in rare and aggressive histologic subtypes including metaplastic breast carcinoma, a highly chemoresistant TNBC variant characterized by sarcomatoid differentiation and PI3K pathway activation. She has led retrospective analyses and prospective studies evaluating checkpoint inhibitor combinations, PI3K/mTOR inhibitors, and novel agents in metaplastic breast cancer, a disease for which standard TNBC chemotherapy regimens perform poorly. She has contributed to international guidelines on rare breast cancer histologies.
