Eliezer Van Allen applies whole-exome and whole-genome sequencing to understand the genomic basis of IO resistance and response. His work has characterized adaptive resistance mechanisms including PD-L1 upregulation in response to IFN-gamma signaling as tumors evolve under immune pressure. He developed genomic frameworks for predicting IO response and identified resistance-associated genomic alterations. His integrative genomic approaches have informed biomarker-driven IO clinical trial design.
