Elena Castro

Elena Castro at Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona is a leading expert in hereditary prostate cancer and BRCA-associated disease. She has contributed to studies revealing the prevalence and prognostic significance of germline DNA repair mutations in prostate cancer. Her research informed the design of PARP inhibitor trials in BRCA-mutated prostate cancer and has advanced clinical genetic testing guidelines for prostate cancer patients. She actively collaborates with the IMPACT consortium studying carriers of BRCA1/2 mutations at risk for prostate cancer.
